These crackers are HONESTLY incredible! I am SO excited for you to make these. Your family and friends will never believe you have made these! Why? Because they have the proper structure that mimic crackers purchased from the store, as they are super crunchy and can handle whatever you top them with! Usually, when we purchase store bought crackers we are filling up on far too many of the wrong kinds of inflammatory omega 6’s thanks to the industrialised seed oils that manufacturers use which can make us sick.

These are my honest-to-goodness solution to a store bought cracker that’s grain free, dairy free, sugar free and nasty industrialised oils free! Best of all, they are super easy, quick to make (bake) and versatile plus you can make them your own with the flavour suggestions I have below.

We love rosemary cracked pepper and sea salt, Italian dried herbs, spicy cayenne and paprika, garlic and onion powder, and za’atar – create whatever you prefer from my base recipe. I love these with guac and pico de gallo, my chickpea hummus, sprouted sunflower seed hummus – they honestly go with everything! Enjoy!

  • 120g 1 Cup Tapioca Flour

  • 105g 1 Cup Almond Flour

  • 53g ½ Cup Sunflower Seed Flour* (see below)

  • 38g ¼ Cup Sesame Seeds

  • 25g 2 Tbsps Flax Seeds

  • 22g 2 Tbsps Chia Seeds

  • 13g 1 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar

  • 6g 1 tsp Unrefined Salt

  • 56g ¼ Cup Filtered Water

  • Make flax egg:
  • 7g 1 Tbsp Ground Flax

  • 45g 3 Tbsps Filtered Water

  • Mix and allow to sit for 15 mins. Set aside and continue with the recipe.

  • * Place ⅓ Cup sunflower seeds into your blender and blend on high into a flour.

  • Course sea salt for sprinkling.


  • Preheat the oven to180C/ 356F.
  • In a large bowl combine dry ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, mix together apple cider vinegar, water and ‘flax egg.’
  • Pour liquid into dry bowl and using a spatula mix together. Then use your hands (mixture will be sticky) to form into a dough.
  • Divide dough in 2 balls. On a baking paper lined cutting board and with another piece of baking paper on top (dough is very sticky) use a rolling pin to roll each dough ball out thinly, aprox. 2 mm thick. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt and gently press into the rolled out dough.
  • Cut rolled out dough into 5.5 cm squares, or your desired shape. You can use cookie cutters for fun shapes for the kids, or whatever you prefer.
  • Place dough shapes onto prepared baking paper lined trays. Transfer to the baking pan with lined baking paper and bake for 25 mins.


  • Other flavour options: My honest cracker recipe is super versatile. You can add your favourites into the dry mix and make them your won! Some of our favourite combinations include: Rosemary cracked pepper and sea salt, Italian dried herbs, spicy cayenne and paprika, garlic and onion powder, and za’atar – Simply add 1 Tbsp of any of these to your dry mix. For my ‘cheesy crackers’ I usually add 3 Tbsps Nutritional yeast to the dry mix.
  • Storage: Crackers will store for months in an airtight sealed container.
