Chili Garlic Prawn Pizza

As someone who lived for a couple of years in beautiful Napoli, Italy I fell in love with their people and their pizza culture! It has been a long time in the making to be able to be able to come anywhere near close the bubbling thin crust dough consistency of the gluten kind – until now. This has been a trial and error evolving recipe for so long and I am so happy to say that I nailed it and that my kids absolutely love it! Not only is this recipe gluten-free (of course!) it is also grain free and dairy free!

My kids prefer a pizza marinara with my homemade pizza sauce and grass-fed cheese, but as for the huz and I we prefer my chili garlic prawn pizza and it has become our most favorite pizza hands down ever that we look forward to on a Friday or Saturday night!

My pizza crust freezes perfectly and is just the best for those nights you don’t want to cook and need something quick and easy. My marinara sauce is super quick and easy and requires zero cooking with the most delicious flavor – I love simplicity!You can top my pizza with whatever your little heart desires, but here are our kids and our favs! x

Chili Garlic Prawn Pizza

Ingredients

  • 200g 1 ½ Cups Prawns, shelled and deveined

  • 150g 1 Red Onion, thinly sliced, sautéed

  • 120g 1 Avocado, thinly sliced

  • 100g 1 Cup Raw Mild Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • 60g ¼ Red Capsicum, thinly sliced

  • 50g ¼ Cup Olives, pitted

  • 45g 3 Tbsps Coconut Oil

  • 30g 1 Cup Rocket

  • 20g 1 Cup Basil Leaves For Garnish

  • 12g 3 Cloves of Garlic, minced

  • 4g 1 Small Red Chilli, minced

  • Pinch Unrefined Salt and Pepper to taste

  • 1 x Recipe Marinara sauce

  • 1 x Pizza Crust recipe

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 245C / 473F.
  • In a frying pan, using a low-medium heat, add in 1 tbsp of coconut oil, add in the onion, sauté until fragrant and softened. Set aside.
  • Rinse the frying pan, using low-medium heat, add in 2 Tbsps of coconut oil, garlic and chilli, stir for a couple minutes until fragrant, but not burn. Add in the prawns, stir for minute, or so until cooked, add in salt and pepper. Set aside. Retain the garlic prawn oil from cooking to drizzle over the cooked pizza before serving.
  • Remove the pizza crust from the freezer, using the same parchment paper, bake the frozen pizza crust on its own for 15 minutes. Rotate tray to avoid browning too much one side.
  • Once slightly golden, remove pizza crust from the oven onto a chopping board and spread the marinara sauce onto the crust. Also, add the sautéed onion, olives, bell pepper and sautéed prawns.
  • Bake again for 5 – 7 minutes to warm up the sauce and topping.
  • Remove from the oven and top with avocado, rocket and basil. Slice pizza and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Storage: See crust for storage instructions. Once topped, pizza is to be served immediately.
